ICNP C-Space – Quick User Guide

1. To access the Scottish Community Nursing Census Group
In the homepage go to the ‘My Groups’ box and click on “Scottish Community Nursing Census”

2. Join Scottish Community Nursing Census Group Go to the ‘Group Members’ box and click on “Join this Group”. Your name will then appear in the list.

3. Permission Levels
Once registered you can view the mapping tool and comment on mappings, but will not have the authority to make changes to the mappings.

4. Access to Mapping Tool
Go to the ‘Tools’ box and click on “Scottish CN Census to ICNP”.

5. Categories
This page lists the Census high level categories for nursing problems and interventions. Click on the category name to see more detail.

6. Individual terms
Lists the census terms and ICNP equivalent mapping, where available, along with a view of the match status and assigned editor(s).

7. Matching Status:
The editors have assigned the matching status.
Registered members may challenge this in the Comments box – click on the word 'Comment’ and a comments box will appear, type in your comments then click on the 'Post’ button.
Please note: Matching is done on basis of meaning rather than exact word for word equivalent.

No Match= no term could be found.
Partial Match= a comparable but differently worded term was identified, or the granularity (level of detail) was broader or narrower
Exact Match = both meaning and granularity
Approved match = editors in agreement the match is appropriate
